Research activities

Since 2007, Dr Chang Hui has been engaged in research on special environmental physiology. In recent years, she has focused on hibernation physiology and applied physiology, mainly exploring the organ maintenance mechanisms of hibernating animals. Currently, the main research work includes: the remarkable "anti-ischemia-reperfusion injury of cardiomyocytes and vascular smooth muscle cells "protection and maintenance of intestinal barrier function under intermittent fasting, "anti-disuse skeletal muscle atrophy" and "anti-disuse osteoporosis" in hibernating ground squirrels. At the same time, through the study of comparative physiology between disease models in non-hibernators and hibernators, new targets and new ideas are found for the prevention and treatment of non-hibernator (including human) related diseases.
